A pet store that sells wine for people...?
Yes! It all started with a litter of sick puppies and a search for fundraising ideas. We wondered "what would our customers love as much as they love dogs?" It came to us at dinner, over a glass of wine......what better combination than good wine to help save good dogs? The next thing we knew, we were at the beer & wine license agency trying to explain why a pet store would want to apply for an alcohol beverage license. Mountains of paperwork and several governmental fees later, we were finally approved and became, as far as we know, the first and only pet supply store in the U.S that sells wine.
The wines we offer are from dog-loving wineries who celebrate the joy of dogs and give back to the ones
in need by contributing to shelters and rescue groups. We hope that you will enjoy our ever-changing selection of wines and that you will feel the joy we feel in "pouring it forward" to help save lives.

NEW! Man's Best Friend 'mfb" Limited Production Series

2007 Chateau d'Og Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon is king. Some of the greatest wines of the world are produced from Cabernet Sauvignon; none more renowned than the red wines from Bordeaux, France. Impressive houses (“chateaux”) honor these prestigious wines from a region where tradition reigns supreme. 2007 represents our first vintage of a Dog Series Cabernet Sauvignon. Brenda loves the “bigness” of well made Cabernet Sauvignon. Bold flavors of currents, berries, chocolate and spice. Ample tannins that provide structure and complexity. What’s not to like? Our only issues are that we are the antithesis of traditional, we don’t own a fancy “chateau” winery and we definitely enjoy having a bit more “dog” fun with our wine labels. Thus was born our Chateau d’Og Cabernet Sauvignon, pronounced in your best faux French accent… shă-tō dē-ôg kăb-әr-nā sō-vēn-gôn.
Tasting Notes
If you could smell size, this is it! Big aromas of black fruits and herbs, there is no mistake that this is Cabernet Sauvignon. A full entry with ripe and mouth-coating tannins is followed by a finish that is all about bright, bold and youthful ‘cab’ fruit.

Dog Art Wine Label Contest Winner. Mutt Lynch Winery and Dog Art Today were tickled pink to select Out of Reach, artist Nancy Schutt's 'naughty' dog painting, as this year's winner in our 3rd Annual 2011 'dog art' wine label contest. This amazing painting now graces the label of our 2009 Sonoma County 'Muttitage' red wine, a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. Only 198 cases of this limited edition wine were produced.
Tasting Notes
Cabernet Sauvignon is so distinct... we love it! Aromas of cassis and red berry fruit are framed by youthful tannins and pretty dark chocolate French oak flavors. Brenda's addition of Merlot adds some pretty red fruit and herbs. The Cabernet Franc is like a pinch of spice... you can't taste it but you know it is there! 'Out of Reach' tastes great now, but is definitely a "keeper" that will soften and grow more complex with some bottle age.

2009 Unleashed Chardonnay
From Mutt Lynch Winery
Unwooded equals “Unleashed”. Our Unleashed Chardonnay is all about “fruit jumping out of the glass”, like a dog jumping out of a vineyard! Get it? Brenda balances Chardonnay’s natural fruit character with two key winemaking steps - malolactic fermentation to soften the wine’s natural acidity and sur lie aging and stirring in tank to provide mid palette creamy richness.
Tasting Notes
Aromas and flavors of peaches and cream, baked red apple and just a hint of honey define our Unleashed Chardonnay. The wine has a full entry with ripe fruit flavors followed by a soft yet crisp and creamy finish. And the drum roll please… no oak.

2007 Merlot Over and Play Dead
From Mutt Lynch Winery
This is not a wimpy Merlot. Slightly tongue-in-cheek, but this has always been the motto for our Merlot Over and Play Dead. Brenda’s focus has always been on picking very ripe Merlot fruit to get the black and red fruits she loves, and to get soft and ripe tannins. The wine's label captures this "attitude"... a big, beefy bulldog saying "bite me" is our way of saying this in not your typical Merlot.
Tasting Notes
Smoky, red cherry aromas lead into flavors of black currents and red berries. Medium bodied in weight, the pretty and bright fruit flavors are classic “Merlot” and lead into a well balanced finish with integrated ripe tannins.

2010 Fou Fou la Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc
From Mutt Lynch Winery
A Savvy With Panache! We had the pleasure of living in New Zealand for a few years and fell in love with “savvy” as they call it down in kiwi land. We ate a lot of fish (ok, fish and chips, but it was fresh) accompanied by glasses of Sauvignon Blanc. As Brenda traveled back and forth to make our wines, she started to think about making a Sauvignon Blanc. The 2010 is her third vintage and she's "all smiles" about the wine. Without sounding sexist, if wine can be feminine or masculine, then our Fou Fou Le Blanc is definitely feminine in style. Enjoy its delicacy, brightness and freshness.
Tasting Notes
Very pretty aromas of ripe fruit and citrus highlight the freshness of this wine. You'll be sure to pick up the flavors of ripe melon, pear and citrus. This wine has a cleansing and fresh finish and no oak!

2007 Portrait of a Mutt Zinfandel
From Mutt Lynch Winery
Always a blend, thus a “mutt”. We have always enjoyed the style of Zinfandel red wine modeled after California’s early history - fruit forward wines made by Italian immigrants that used a field mix blend of various grapes from their vineyard, with Zinfandel at the core. The other ‘field mix’ varietals used have flavors and structure that play off of the sweet berry qualities of Zinfandel. Our favorite is Carignane. When combined with Zinfandel, it can accentuate the sweet berry qualities of Zin with spicy, red cherry fruit flavors. Thus was born our Portrait of a Mutt Zinfandel.
Tasting Notes
Wonderful aromas of black and red fruits (raspberry, blackberry and cherry - take your pick) are followed by Zinfandel’s signature ripe jammy flavors and supple finish. The ‘mutt’ shows itself in the finish where cleansing acidity gives the wine a wonderful freshness and drinkability.
